Nova et Vetera

We are NOVA ET VETERA, a startup that transforms old apartments into modern homes. Since 2020, we have renovated and sold over 300 apartments. Our name, which refers to the connection between “new and old,” perfectly reflects what we do – revitalizing older apartments and turning them into more affordable and sustainable alternatives to new developments. Our innovative approach and impact on the Czech real estate market have even been highlighted in media outlets such as Forbes, E15, and CzechCrunch.

The story of NOVA ET VETERA began with two classmates who transformed the renovation of a single apartment into a company that is now one of the largest providers of refurbished apartments in the Czech Republic. Our vision is to deliver high-quality and affordable housing based on a sustainable and fair approach. Thanks to advanced technological processes, we tailor each apartment to modern trends and customer needs, from kitchen design to material selection.

Our success is backed by strong financial partners. We combine bank financing from UniCredit Bank with venture debt from Orbit Capital, which also invests in dynamic companies like Rohlík.cz, Twisto, and Manifesto Market. This financial model allows us to execute projects quickly, typically completing the cycle from purchase to sale in less than four months. Additionally, our operations are insured by Direct Pojišťovna, providing peace of mind and security for each project.

Our success is driven not only by well-thought-out processes and efficient financing but also by people. We collaborate with a team of experienced designers, project managers, and craftsmen who share our standards and passion for quality. Our employees and external partners grow alongside us, and we deeply value their contributions, which enable us to achieve exceptional results.

Our Team

Vítězslav Pelc

Co-Founder

Co-founder Víťa is responsible for our transactions and operational excellence. He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague and former Sales Manager at two real estate developers. An ambitious and responsible leader of our team. Vítězslav is fluent in Czech, English and Russian.

Valeriia Hryshchenko

Design Coordinator

Valeriia specializes in design and home staging. She ensures that each project meets the standards of our company and is completed on time. She coordinates the construction team, and together they transform creative visions into successful realities. You can communicate with Valeriia in Czech, English, Ukrainian, and Russian.

Aldar Tsybyktarov

Co-Founder

Co-founder Aldar oversees our construction projects, processes and partnerships. Prior to starting the business, Aldar was part of the global real estate team at Honeywell. He holds a Master's degree in Urban Development (Oxford) and Economics of Globalization (Brazil) and is fluent in Czech, English, Russian and Spanish.

Tomáš Staněk

Real Estate Manager

As a real estate manager, Tomáš manages sales and negotiations with clients. As a former professional mixologist, he has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. He holds a Master's degree in Economics and Business and is fluent in Czech and English and understands Russian.

Vendy Tranová

Sales Representative

Vendy specializes in advertising, viewings, sales, and client negotiations. She always brings positive energy to every viewing and to our office. She graduated in tourism and hotel management in Denmark and is fluent in Czech, English, and Vietnamese.

Tereza Trávníčková

Design Coordinator

Tereza takes care of the layouts of our apartments and the technical aspects of renovations. She also handles client changes. In a family architectural firm, she collaborated on project documentation for residential and apartment buildings, from layout design to handling administrative matters. Her portfolio also includes independent projects for apartment renovations, studies of family houses, and furniture designs. She speaks Czech and English.

Lucie Prokešová

Financial Controller

Lucie holds the position of Financial Controller. She studied accounting and finance at a university in London, where she lived for a total of seven years. She is now back in Prague and is responsible for our finances and related administration. You can communicate with her in Czech and English.

Anna Karpenko

Project Coordinator

Anna specializes in project coordination. She is responsible for monitoring the various phases of projects and ensuring that each meets the established standards and is completed on time. She coordinates the construction team and ensures the smooth progress of all activities. You can communicate with Anna in Czech, English, and Russian.

Layla Abdikhan

Real Estate Intern

Layla is a student from Kazakhstan who is currently studying in Prague while working part-time as an intern. In her role, she handles various tasks, such as document management and errands, which contribute to the smooth operation of the company and office.

Pavel Eleder

Business Development Moravia

Pavel is responsible for expanding our company in Moravia with a focus on Brno. Thanks to his many years of experience in sales, he oversees sales and takes part in acquiring new projects. Apart from his involvement in real estate, Pavel is highly active in volunteer activities. He holds a master's degree in molecular biology and genetics from Masaryk University in Brno.

Karel Zheng

Business Advisor

Karel Zheng acts as an external business advisor, offering expert strategic advice and supporting our commercial excellence and technological transformation initiatives. Karel brings a wealth of experience from his roles as a start-up founder, VC investor at KAYA VC, and managerial consultant at BCG.

Filip Horel

Marketing Specialist

Filip, as a Marketing Specialist, is responsible for creating and effectively distributing marketing content. He helps us build a strong brand through innovative promotional offers, online and offline campaigns, and marketing events. He collaborates with the sales team to ensure his marketing activities and analytical skills support their sales efforts.

Jakub Hafner

External Counsel

Jakub Hafner, as External Counsel, handles our transactions, provides advice on regulatory compliance, and represents us in legal proceedings. He is a founding partner at the law firm HAFNER & PARTNERS and oversees a team of three attorneys who collaborate on our real estate acquisitions and sales.

Lenka Brodská

External Attorney

Lenka Brodská is a lawyer with over fifteen years of experience who emphasizes an individual approach to each client. At the law firm HAFNER & PARTNEŘI, she specializes primarily in civil law and real estate law.

Josef Dvořák

Financial Advisor

As a financial advisor, Josef provides expert advice to both us and our clients. He has extensive experience from arranging several hundred mortgages not only for our clients but also under the best conditions and with maximum customer satisfaction. In addition, he has experience in corporate financing and financial planning, and he currently works as a manager at eDo Finance, where he leads a team of advisors.

Robert Bačák

Construction Partner

As Construction Partner, Robert oversees and manages construction projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, team management and ensuring the success of the renovation.

Oleksandr Kolisnyk

Construction Specialist

Oleksandr Kolisnyk is responsible for precise finishing works. He supports the coordination of our internal construction team. Originally from Ukraine, Sasha is a senior construction specialist with extensive experience in renovating interiors across multiple countries.

Maksym Stoyka

Construction Partner

Maksym ensures complete management of construction projects from start to finish. His responsibilities include planning, budget preparation, team coordination, and achieving successful outcomes for renovations.

Oleg Batsynko

Construction Team

Oleg takes care of transporting furniture and building materials. He also specializes in assembling furniture and kitchens. Interestingly, Oleg is also a goldsmith, so the furniture in our homes is assembled with meticulous goldsmith's precision.

Igor Tepliakov

Construction Team

Igor Tepliakov is an integral part of the construction crew, responsible for various tasks on the job site. He assists in setting up and preparing construction materials, tools, and equipment. Igor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient progress of our construction projects.

Natalia Batsynko

Facilities

Natalia Batsynko is responsible for managing and ensuring the cleanliness of our properties and office. Additionally, she provides facilities management services for our clients and their leased properties.

Social Responsibility

Waste management

We think about the environment and try to reduce our carbon footprint. We carefully segregate waste from all our construction, renovation and office projects. We work exclusively with collection yards that can guarantee recycling or environmentally friendly disposal of all waste. We place the same high demands for sustainability on our suppliers…

… When choosing building materials, we always prefer natural materials from domestic suppliers.

Support for sport

We support sport, especially pupil and junior teams. In 2021 we supported the running of the children’s teams of the Korfball Club KCC Sokol České Budějovice. Korfball is the only team ball game in which both men and women play together. The main characteristics of the game are versatility, team play, limited physical contact between players and equality between men and women in the game.

Support for education

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our employees were actively involved in the Computers for Kids project, which aims to provide families in need with computer technology to enable their children to study from home and use the technology to increase computer literacy and creative activities.
